Balltec Engineered Solutions engineer high-load connectors that save time, improve safety, and reduce costs on the world's most demanding offshore wind, decommissioning, and oil & gas projects.

The situation

Chroma started working with Balltec in September 2022. Due to new projects, they needed seven new engineers:

• 2 x Graduate Mechanical Design Engineers
• 3 x Mechanical Design Engineers
• 1 x Lead Design Engineer
• 1 x FEA Engineer

Chroma's approach

• Hiring for a challenging geography in the Morecambe/Lancaster area.
• Multiple businesses in the area are competing for the same skills—e.g., BAE Systems.
• The new hires would initially be in temporary offices with limited space.

The outcome

A 100% fill rate was achieved within 12 months, and we are in talks with Balltec regarding next steps as they move back into their newly refurbished office. Our success with Balltec has seen them confidently recommend us to other companies in this market, including the wider Venterra Group.
