Location: Central Manchester (2–3 days on-site)
Contract: Initial 6-month contract (high likelihood of extension)
Rate: Up to £450 per day (Outside IR35)

We're looking for an experienced 3rd / 4th Line Infrastructure Engineer to join a small, highly capable team of three engineers who work collaboratively, share responsibilities, and take pride in maintaining a robust, secure, and reliable infrastructure environment.
This is a hands-on role where you'll split your time between resolving complex operational issues and supporting the ongoing development of a modern, cloud-first infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Provide support across a broad range of 3rd and 4th line infrastructure and networking activities.
- Resolve complex technical operational issues, including:
- Print server queue issues
- Basic networking and hardware troubleshooting
- Advanced troubleshooting within Azure
- Advanced firewall troubleshooting
- Support and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Ensure mission-critical systems remain stable, secure, and performant.
- Work across Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and virtualised environments.
- Support enterprise networking, SD-WAN technologies, and firewall infrastructure.
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements and ongoing technical projects.
- Work collaboratively within a close-knit infrastructure team to deliver a high-quality internal IT service.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years' hands-on experience in cloud, infrastructure support, and enterprise networking.
- Strong technical expertise across:
- Azure Cloud, including Azure Active Directory and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Azure IaaS and PaaS services
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Microsoft 365
- Firewall technologies (strong knowledge of SD-WAN, Meraki, and Palo Alto)
- VMware and other virtualisation platforms
- Enterprise-scale networking and server environments (300–400 users/servers)
- Able to provide specific, evidenced examples of Azure experience during interview.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
