This Principal UX Designer role is a strategic, high impact position where you’ll lead design thinking, mentor a global UX team, and shape user experiences across complex, cross platform products.

The Role As Principal UX Designer, you’ll drive UX direction across multiple digital products. You’ll make both strategic and hands on design decisions, support a distributed UX team, and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure user needs and business goals align.
You’ll translate complex scientific concepts into intuitive experiences and help elevate UX as a core practice across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing- Creating interaction strategies for cross platform digital experiences
- Leading the design of wireframes, interactive prototypes, navigation structures, and content organisation
- Designing user journeys and presenting solutions to senior stakeholders and customer groups
- Facilitating communication across UX teams and acting as an escalation point
- Collaborating with designers across multiple offices and mentoring junior team members
- Advocating for user needs and promoting the value of UX across the company
- Shaping UX team goals and contributing to the evolution of the design system
- Influencing early product strategy and communicating design requirements during feature planning
- Identifying opportunities to simplify and improve existing design patterns
- Reviewing UX across products to ensure consistency
What You’ll Need- 10 to 15 years of UX Design experience in software or web development
- Strong background designing web based or SaaS applications
- Expert understanding of UX processes, documentation, and planning
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear wireframes and prototypes
- Experience presenting to senior stakeholders and leading discovery conversations
- Proven track record delivering outstanding user experiences, supported by a strong portfolio
- Experience interviewing users and running usability testing
- Experience defining or working with a design system
- Experience working within Agile teams, including Jira knowledge
- A background in scientific or data heavy application design is a plus
- Degree in HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred
