Senior EC&I Design Engineer

We’re recruiting for a Senior EC&I Design Engineer to join a leading engineering business delivering high-specification control and instrumentation systems for the oil & gas, process, and petrochemical sectors.
This is a hands-on, technically focused role ideal for an EC&I Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical design, control systems, and instrumentation. You’ll be joining a collaborative and growing team committed to engineering excellence, compliance, and delivering complex solutions in hazardous and regulated environments.

You’ll be responsible for producing detailed EC&I designs, generating technical documentation, specifying PLC hardware and instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with ATEX and other industry standards. This role is hybrid with occasional site visits for testing, inspection, and client support.


Senior EC&I Design Engineer – Essential Skills & Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in EC&I design within oil & gas or process industries
• Proficient in AutoCAD and ideally Amtech/ProDesign
• Strong understanding of hazardous area design and ATEX compliance
• Experience in specifying PLC equipment and designing control systems
