Business Development Manager – Engineering Systems

£50,000 – £55,000 Car Allowance Bonus

One of our key clients based in the Liverpool area is looking for a Business Development Manager with a technical or engineering background to join their growing commercial team.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established global manufacturer of bespoke engineered systems, supplying into regulated process industries including pharmaceuticals, life sciences and fine chemicals, as well as emerging sectors such as battery technology and advanced materials.

The Role Covering the UK & Ireland, with growing involvement in international markets (including APAC), you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing key customer relationships.
You’ll work closely with engineering, project management and operations teams to shape and deliver tailored solutions, supporting customers through a consultative, specification-led sales process.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities across process industries
  • Managing the full sales lifecycle from initial enquiry through to project order
  • Engaging with engineering, operations and project stakeholders
  • Developing long-term relationships with both end-users and partners
  • Supporting international business development as the role evolves
What they’re looking for
  • Engineering background (degree or equivalent experience)
  • Experience selling technical products, systems or capital equipment
  • Strong commercial skills across new business and account development
  • Experience working in process industries (pharma, chemical, life sciences) – desirable
  • Ability to operate in a consultative, technical sales environment
  • Willingness to travel (UK & international as required)
This role would suit someone with a strong technical or engineering sales background who is looking to step into a more international, project-led role with long-term progression.
