Information Controller to join a growing team.
The role You'll be the linchpin between subcontractors, clients, and project managers, gathering and quality-checking information to produce handover documentation that actually does its job. No two days will look the same, but your knack for organisation and your eye for detail will be the constant.
What you'll be doing- Using bespoke in-house software to manage information from subcontractors and clients, keeping projects on track for timely handover
- Logging incoming information promptly and making sure nothing slips through the cracks
- Extracting data from external sources to build out equipment schedules
- Reviewing and approving as-built documentation from third parties
- Actioning non-technical comments on manuals and chasing third-party actions through to completion
- Spotting project creep early, controlling it where you can, escalating to the Project Manager where you can't
- Joining client meetings alongside the Project Manager to report on subcontractor performance and project status
- Fielding calls from clients and subcontractors with professionalism
- Fulfilling responsibilities outlined in the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) or Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP)
- Helping train new team members as the team grows
- Feeding system and process improvements back to the relevant teams, your ideas matter here
What we're looking for- A minimum of 2 years' document control experience, specifically working on O&M manuals
- A construction background, ideally with a solid grasp of M&E
- Strong communication skills
- A genuinely sharp eye for detail (quality checking is a big part of this)
- Confidence with data management and organising information logically
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Methodical, questioning, and a natural completer-finisher
- A background in quality is a plus
What you'll get- £30,000 per annum
- 25 days' annual leave plus UK bank holidays
- Hybrid working — 2 days a week in our Chelmsford office, the rest from home
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
