Senior Data Scientist | 12-month FTC | Hybrid, North West | Competitive

We're partnered with a well-known consumer-facing business who are investing heavily in their data and AI capability, and need an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role sitting within a growing data science function. You'll be working on commercially significant problems, the kind where your models genuinely shape strategic decisions, alongside a high-calibre team of scientists, engineers, and analysts.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing, building, and deploying machine learning models that move the needle on commercial KPIs
• Leading on technical approach across complex problems, from framing through to production
• Partnering with stakeholders across the business to translate ambiguous questions into solvable data problems
• Mentoring more junior data scientists and raising the technical bar across the team
• Contributing to the team's evolving MLOps practice and engineering standards

What you'll bring:

• Strong track record as a Senior Data Scientist in a large, complex business
• Deep Python and SQL; production ML experience (scikit-learn, PyTorch / TensorFlow)
• Cloud-native ML experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• A pragmatic, commercial mindset — you choose the right tool for the problem, not the most exciting one
• Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
