Automation Test Engineer – Contract Opportunity

• Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
• Rate: £375 per day (Outside IR35)
• Duration: 6-Month Initial Contract (Likely Extension)

The Opportunity Chroma is partnering with a major high street retailer undergoing an exciting tech and data transformation. They are looking for talented Automation Test Engineers to join their team.

This is a great opportunity to work at the forefront of a modern, cloud-based data stack and help shape quality practices in a fast-paced, large-scale environment.

You will be working with cutting-edge tools including:

• Snowflake
• dbt
• Fivetran
• GitHub Actions
• Azure DevOps

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building automated tests to ensure data quality and reliability
• Writing and optimising complex SQL queries
• Embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborating with engineers across data and platform teams
• Driving best practices for QA and automation

What We’re Looking For Essential:

• 3 years’ experience in Test Engineering / QA
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries
• Proven hands-on experience in test automation (minimum 1 year)
• Experience with modern cloud data warehouses
• Knowledge of integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Experience with Git version control
