We're working with a growing technology business seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the transformation of its deployment and infrastructure capabilities.
This is a hands-on contract opportunity focused on replacing manual deployment processes with automated, scalable, and secure Azure-based delivery pipelines. You'll play a key role in improving release confidence, operational efficiency, and platform resilience across multiple environments.

Overview
We're working with a growing technology business seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the transformation of its deployment and infrastructure capabilities.
This is a hands-on contract opportunity focused on replacing manual deployment processes with automated, scalable, and secure Azure-based delivery pipelines. You'll play a key role in improving release confidence, operational efficiency, and platform resilience across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Azure-based CI/CD pipelines across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
- Drive the transition from manual deployments to automated, repeatable release processes.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and QA teams to improve deployment reliability and developer experience.
- Implement deployment standards, governance, and environment management practices.
- Support the creation and management of isolated development and testing environments.
- Improve monitoring, deployment visibility, and operational processes.
- Strengthen security, compliance, and configuration management across cloud infrastructure.
- Implement automated release controls, quality gates, and deployment safeguards.
- Provide technical leadership and champion DevOps best practices across engineering teams.
- Support ongoing platform scalability, resilience, and operational readiness.
- Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Deep understanding of Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, and CI/CD best practices.
- Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing multi-stage deployment pipelines.
- Experience building secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of release management and deployment governance.
- Experience working within Agile software delivery environments.
- Ability to quickly understand and improve existing cloud and infrastructure estates.
- Self-sufficient contractor who can take ownership and deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Azure DevOps Boards and software delivery lifecycle management.
- Automated testing and quality gate implementation.
- Experience within regulated or security-conscious environments.
- Monitoring, observability, and operational support tooling.
- Establishing DevOps standards and engineering best practices across teams.
