Manufacturing Engineer
Skelmersdale £46,000 + 15% Bonus
A leading engineering and manufacturing business operating within the Offshore & Renewables sector is looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team in Skelmersdale.
This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering position focused on improving production processes, supporting manufacturing equipment, driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivering engineering projects across the site.
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, you will play a key role in improving productivity, reducing waste, increasing equipment capability and supporting manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement and manufacturing optimisation projects
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Support production equipment performance and manufacturing capability
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Research, specify and implement new manufacturing equipment and capital projects
- Support machinery installation, commissioning and validation activities
- Develop manufacturing processes and standard operating procedures
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance and Quality teams to improve operational performance
- Review equipment performance data and identify improvement opportunities
- Support new product and process introduction activities
Requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Process Engineer or similar position
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machinery, production equipment and manufacturing processes
- Experience delivering continuous improvement projects
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and problem-solving experience
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / CI experience beneficial
- AutoCAD experience preferred
