1st Line Support Technician – Entry Level IT Role

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic 1st Line Support Technician to join a fast-paced, growing organisation with a strong people-focused culture.
This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in IT support. Previous commercial experience is not essential; however, a strong interest in technology, good IT literacy, and a willingness to learn are key.
You will join a busy IT Service Desk team providing support to users across the business, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of systems, hardware, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email and chat
  • Log, track and prioritise tickets using a service desk system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues including:
    • Password resets
    • Account access issues
    • Basic system and connectivity problems
  • Support user account creation, permissions and onboarding processes
  • Assist with hardware setup and configuration (laptops, desktops, mobile devices, tablets)
  • Install and support standard business software applications
  • Respond to basic IT security alerts following established procedures
  • Escalate more complex issues to senior engineers in line with SLAs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the knowledge base

Shift Pattern
This role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift basis, combining office and home working:
  • 07:00 – 15:30 (Office, Monday–Friday)
  • 10:00 – 18:30 (Office, Monday–Friday)
  • 15:00 – 23:30 (Home-based)
  • 23:00 – 07:30 (Home-based)
Skills and Experience
  • Strong interest in IT support, technology, and troubleshooting
  • Good level of IT literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office, general systems)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, and proactive
Desirable (not essential):
  • Exposure to service desk environments, ticketing systems or POS systems
