Mechanical Design Engineer

EXCLUSIVE ROLE: We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of a new industrial product, working closely with the Technical Manager from concept through to prototype manufacture.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Design fabricated structures, welded assemblies and sheet metal components.
• Support product development from concept to prototype build.
• Produce bills of materials and engineering documentation.
• Liaise with manufacturing and procurement to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
• Support testing, problem solving, and continuous improvement activities.

About You

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing industrial equipment, machinery or engineered products.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience with fabricated steelwork and sheet metal design.
• Good understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA).

Desirable: Experience with prototype development, thermal processing equipment, or compliance standards (CE/UKCA).
