Skelmersdale  £55,000 - £60,000 + Benefits

A market-leading engineering and manufacturing business operating within the Offshore & Renewables sector is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their leadership team in Skelmersdale.

Reporting into senior management, the successful Engineering Manager will take ownership of the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance functions, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, continuous improvement and asset reliability across the business whilst developing and leading high-performing engineering teams.

Engineering Manager Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or similar engineering leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment and maintenance systems
  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering and maintenance teams
  • Experience implementing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements within a manufacturing environment
  • Engineering qualification desirable
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience advantageous

Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance functions across the site
  • Develop and implement engineering, maintenance and asset management strategies
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability, productivity, quality and cost performance
  • Ensure effective preventative and predictive maintenance programmes are maintained and continuously improved
  • Manage engineering resources, budgets and priorities to support business objectives
  • Lead engineering projects focused on process optimisation, automation, waste reduction and capacity improvements
  • Ensure all plant, machinery and facilities remain compliant with legislative and company requirements
  • Support the introduction of new equipment, products and manufacturing processes
  • Lead root cause investigations into equipment failures, quality issues and operational non-conformances
  • Develop, coach and mentor engineering and maintenance personnel
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and HSEQ teams to achieve business objectives
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement throughout the engineering function
