A globally recognised manufacturer of high-performance gear solutions, supplying critical industries across the world. Due to continued growth and investment, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at our Rochdale facility.

This is a varied role offering a genuine 50/50 split between hands-on manufacturing engineering and higher-level process improvement activities. You'll be heavily involved in CNC programming, machining processes and shop-floor support, whilst also driving continuous improvement projects, process optimisation and long-term manufacturing changes across the business.

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position is essential
  • Strong background within precision engineering and/or heavy engineering
  • Experience with CNC machining processes including milling and turning
  • Grinding process knowledge would be highly advantageous
  • CNC programming and routing experience
  • Ability to create and modify manufacturing documentation and processes
  • Experience using 3D CAD software
  • Strong understanding of machining methods, tooling and manufacturing best practices
  • Able to communicate effectively with both shop-floor teams and senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on approach combined with strong problem-solving skills

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Create and optimise CNC programs for milling, turning and grinding operations
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and process documentation
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to production teams
  • Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and productivity
  • Lead and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Drive long-term manufacturing and process improvement projects
  • Work closely with production, quality and design teams to improve manufacturability
  • Support tooling, fixturing and process development activities
  • Analyse manufacturing performance data and implement improvement plans
