The Role

As an IT Support Analyst, you will be the first point of contact for users requiring technical assistance, delivering excellent customer service whilst ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation's IT systems.

This is a varied and engaging role where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting hardware, software, networks, and business-critical applications while working closely with experienced IT professionals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly and professionally to technical support requests via telephone, email, and in person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and business applications.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment and software in line with company standards.
  • Log, categorise, and prioritise incidents and service requests using the IT service management system.
  • Escalate complex issues to second-line support teams or external providers where necessary.
  • Assist with user account administration, including password resets and access permissions.
  • Document solutions and contribute to the IT knowledge base.
  • Support IT projects, system upgrades, and technology rollouts.
  • Adhere to IT security policies and promptly report any potential breaches or vulnerabilities.
  • Provide clear, friendly, and effective support to users of all technical abilities.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of five GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within an IT support, service desk, or helpdesk environment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.

Desirable

  • Further education or vocational qualifications in IT or a related field.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent understanding of IT service management.
  • CompTIA A+ or similar technical certification.
  • Experience within a professional services or legal environment.
  • Exposure to legal practice management software or specialist business applications.
