Senior Business Analyst – Azure Migration & HR/Finance Systems (Contractor)

Location: Manchester city centre, hybrid (onsite days as required by programme)
Contract: Initial 3-month contract
Rate: Up to £400/day Outside IR35

Overview

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a major UK consumer brand's Digital Engineering function. This is a genuine delivery role spanning two active workstreams — a cloud tenant migration and a pair of system replacement RFPs — for someone who can get up to speed fast, run workshops that land decisions, and produce requirements documentation good enough to go straight out to vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the PM and architect in defining the approach to user migration between Azure tenants, including mailbox, storage, SharePoint and OneDrive requirements, ownership and configuration.
• Assist in understanding current cloud application integration configuration to enable smooth redeployment into a new Azure tenant.
• Capture business requirements, run technical analysis of current applications and review current business processes to support RFPs for replacement Finance and HR systems.
• Engage business and technical owners across the organisation and third parties to produce clear, well-documented requirements.
• Interpret wider strategy and business context, translating it into practical requirements and process documentation.
• Lead close interaction between business/technical owners and technical delivery teams, including third parties.
• Work across multiple concurrent workstreams, prioritising effectively.

Requirements

• Significant Business/IT analysis experience delivered on complex technology migrations.
• Demonstrable experience documenting and managing business, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Experience facilitating workshops and driving consensus across multiple teams.
• Experience leading analysis across multiple teams, including third parties, to deliver technology solutions.
• Experience working across multiple streams of work with strong prioritisation skills.
• Base understanding of Azure AD/Entra ID concepts and tenant-to-tenant migrations.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 migration projects, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and user identity migration.
• Experience analysing application integrations, data flows and dependencies in complex enterprise environments.
• Ability to produce high-quality requirements documentation and process maps.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with RAID management, dependency management and programme governance.

Desirable

• Understanding of Telco and ICT products and processes.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Experience with HR systems, particularly Workday.
• Experience with Finance systems, particularly Dynamics 365.
