Senior CAD Design/Team Leader

Are you a Senior CAD Design Engineer looking to take their first step into leadership?

Due to organic company growth, a leading Engineering company based in the Derbyshire area are looking for a Senior CAD Design/Team Leader. This company are a global business at the forefront of specialist equipment and designs used in the Energy & Renewables sector.

The main focal point of the role is to lead the companies UK CAD Design team (currently 4 Designers). At first, you will remain technically hands on with design, focusing on high-quality CAD modelling and draughting for structural steelwork, sheet metal fabrications & pressure vessels using 2D & 3D CAD.

Over the next 12 months, you’ll develop into the CAD Engineering Manager and assist with doubling the team’s headcount. This will also include training & development, project scheduling, performance reviews, working with other departments and overseeing the companies technical design.

Senior CAD Engineer/Team Leader Requirements:

• HNC/D / Degree or Time Served Engineer
• Technical Design – Structural Fabrications, Sheet Metal, Pressure Vessels (other industrial equipment)
• CAD – Inventor / Autodesk Vault (desirable)
• Experience operating at Senior Design Engineer level / Mentoring Engineers
• Willingness to take on Leadership Qualifications (with company support)
