Product Development Engineer
A manufacturer is looking for a Product Development Engineer to join its growing Design team. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development and continuous improvement of mechanical products, working closely with Design, Production and Compliance teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Reporting directly to the Head of Design, the successful Product Development Engineer will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing designs. You will be taking projects through the full lifecycle, producing 2D and 3D CAD designs, engineering drawings and technical documentation, carrying out product testing and design verification activities, supporting manufacturing teams and liaising with suppliers where required.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Product Development Engineer who is looking for a varied role with ownership of projects and exposure to all aspects of design and product development.
Product Development Engineer Requirements:
- Engineering qualification and/or relevant industry experience
- 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD experience (Inventor, SolidWorks or similar)
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering and design principles
- Ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture
- Sheet metal design experience
